How We Help

Sports Injury

When you are injured, it is very difficult to continue with your sport.  Whether you are a Muay Thai fighter, padel player, or avid gym goer, pain is debilitating to your athletic ability and quality of life.  Receiving proper treatment can be the difference between living with discomfort and returning to full health.

Assessment

When you get injured, the most important step to recovery is a proper assessment.  This allows us to figure out exactly what tissues have been damaged and what we need to accomplish in order to get you back to full health.  I will use an array of orthopedic and range of motion tests to rule out significant pathology and detect the precise movements that are causing you pain.  From there, we will begin the therapy and rehab process.

Therapy

Therapy involves understanding your precise compensation patterns.  I will use NeuroKinetic therapy to learn which muscles are overworking and which ones are underworking in your body.   Once established, we begin a two-part process of using soft tissue/massage modalities and strengthening exercises to correct the imbalances you are experiencing.

Rehab

You should begin to see improvements immediately.  The length of the rehab process depends on the severity of the injury and your body’s ability to heal.  I will guide you through the stages of repair and regeneration using corrective exercise strategies and Applied Yoga’s mobility training.  Together, we will increase your strength and flexibility until you have recovered and are able to return to your chosen activity.

Mobility

Mobility refers to the capacity of an individual to move freely and easily in space.  As you progress through the rehabilitation process, I will increase the variation of exercises you are given to assure that your body’s strength and flexibility reaches its highest peak.  You will be assigned different motor control exercises from the Functional Range Conditioning® (FRC) and Applied Yoga® systems.

Athletic Performance

Once your range of motion is fully restored, we will work on creating muscular strength to assure that you are able to return to your sport with ease.   Athletic performance, however, goes beyond just sports activity but also entails healthy day to day living.  So whatever injury you are facing, it will be our job to help you recover and live the pain free life you deserve to have.
